Every year, 260,000 people lose their lives on Africa’s roads — accounting for 24% of global road deaths, even though the continent has less than 4% of the world’s vehicles. With an average of 19.6 deaths per 100,000 people, Africa faces the highest road traffic fatality rate in the world.
