As part of the Safe Helmets for Asia Pacific (SHAP) Summit 2026 in Hanoi, Vietnam, Mr. Sushil Babu Dhakal, Joint Secretary of Nepal's Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Chairperson of the APRSO Steering Committee, Mr. Pich Chabandith, Deputy Director of Cambodia's Road Traffic Safety Department, and Mr. Blaise Murphet, a consultant to the APRSO Secretariat, visited a helmet testing facility alongside Dr. Terry Smith, Principal Scientist and technical expert at Galeatus.

Held under the theme “Partnerships for Safer Helmets: Accelerating Action Across Asia-Pacific,” the Summit built on the inaugural SHAP workshop held in Manila in 2025. 

During the facility visit, participants gained firsthand insight into the testing and certification processes that help ensure helmet quality and performance that would be helpful in reducing road traffic deaths and serious injuries across the region.
