In 2025, the Asian Transport Observatory (ATO) collaborated with APRSO and the International Road Federation (IRF) to develop updated road safety profiles for 28 countries across Asia-Pacific.

These updated road safety profiles feature interactive charts on critical road safety indicators, and novel organized information on road safety policies for each of the countries. A benchmarking section is also provided to give more context to where the countries are compared to each other, and their status in comparison to the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021 - 2030 global goal of halving road fatalities by 2030.

The profiles include detailed summary information relating to the road safety situation in each country, including data showing:

• Number of fatalities
• Fatality rates compared to neighboring countries
• Average growth rate of fatalities
• Age and road user demographics
• Cost impact to GDP
• Motorization rates

This data is critically important in support of evidence-based policy formation and implementation. It provides a clear picture of major priorities and areas requiring investment.
